Make the most of your home this winter

For a second time this year, we are required to stay indoors. Working from home is the new norm, online gym sessions are still in full swing and zoom catch-ups continue.

Strong winds and heavy rain are keeping us indoors, giving us the perfect excuse to make the most of our home this winter.

There are so many ways to easily update your home. Here are our top tips for updating your space into a cosy, contemporary interior.

Add sumptuous velvets and combine with knits, tassels, pom-poms or faux furs to create interesting textures. This can be done easily with new soft furnishings for any living or bedroom area creating perfect nooks for keeping warm.

The ideal way to add a touch of warmth to your home is with a change of colour.

We love warm neutrals, earthy tones, browns and golds. The Dulux’s colour of the year 2021 ‘Brave Ground’ is the most perfect warm, earthy toned neutral that will work seamlessly with timeless tonal interiors.

If you aren’t quite ready to paint the whole room, create an easy feature wall. Layer with artwork and key accessories for a simple transformation.

Make the most of the foraging season by collecting twigs, berries, nuts and berries and display them in tall vases and bowls around the house.

Combine them with preserved and faux stems for the ultimate centrepiece. Alternatively, make your own arrangement that will last a lifetime.

With the evenings setting in all too early, create a warm glow in your home with perfect lighting and combine with candles in living spaces for scent and cosiness.

However you choose to make the most of your home this winter, stay warm, cosy and safe.
